Dear Members of the USF Community,
Welcome to the new academic year!
Over the past few weeks, new and continuing students from across the country and from around the world have been settling into their residence halls on campus, into their homes in Bay Area neighborhoods, finding their way to our regional campuses, and preparing for classes, co-curricular activities, fall internships, and more. New faculty and staff are learning so much about what makes this a distinctive Jesuit university. We are so happy you are here. I have enjoyed meeting many of you during orientation events and on my walks around campus.
To our newest students, including first-year undergraduates, transfers, and graduate students: We welcome you. Thank you for choosing USF and its Jesuit liberal arts academic mission.
To all faculty and staff: I hope you found time to relax over the summer. This semester will be a busy one, and I am grateful to have you as partners in our strategic priorities. Thank you for being members of this distinctive community and for all you do for our students and each other.
Best wishes for a successful year ahead.
Sincerely,
Paul J. Fitzgerald, S.J.
President
