The Caribbean Social Immersion Program hosts immersions around various countries in the Caribbean. This immersion program explores Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, and several communities in the East and South of the country.
This program will provide an understanding of several issues (education, children, migration, race) and solutions that Jesuits, and other organizations, are providing to such problems. The trip will include: lectures at a Jesuit social think-tank Centro Montalvo, a guided night-out in Santo Domingo, and visits to inner-city neighborhoods, sugarcane plantations (bateyes), community organizations, nonprofits, and colonial landmarks.
