Engineering Opportunities Database

The opportunities database is constantly being updated with internship, job, scholarship, and graduate program opportunities!

  • USF Career Services
    • Career Services is always running resume help sessions and recruiting events, and offers a lot of support in finding jobs/internships for students. Make sure you sign up for Handshake too!
  • Pathways to Research and Postdoc Careers
    • The Pathways to Research and Doctoral Careers platform lists pre-doc jobs available in research institutions across the country. These are great opportunities for graduating students to work for one or two years as full-time research assistants alongside top researchers, focusing on many topics.
  • National Science Foundation REU Database
    • The Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program supports active research participation by undergraduate students in any of the areas of research funded by the National Science Foundation. REU projects involve students in meaningful ways for ongoing research programs or projects specifically designed for the program. This solicitation features two mechanisms for supporting student research:

      • REU Sites are independent proposals to initiate and conduct projects that engage a number of students in research. REU Sites may be based in a single discipline or academic department or may offer interdisciplinary or multi-department research opportunities with a coherent intellectual theme.

      • REU Supplements may be included as a component of proposals for new or renewal NSF grants or cooperative agreements or may be requested for ongoing NSF-funded research projects.
  • PathwaysToScience
    • Programs and professional development resources for current and prospective undergraduate students -- research experiences for undergraduates (REU), scholarships, and travel and research opportunities.

On-Campus Student Jobs

Summer Zero 2026 Peer Mentors

We are now hiring peer mentors for Summer Zero 2026! Summer Zero is a 6-week student academic enrichment program designed to prepare first year engineering students for college life. The program aims to provide preparatory coursework and academic support, give students initial exposure to engineering as a discipline, and build student community. This program is essential to helping our students develop the skills and strategies needed to succeed as engineers at USF.

As part of Summer Zero we hire three to four peer mentors to serve as student resources to the incoming cohort of Engineering students, as well as facilitate strong community building within the cohort. The ideal peer mentors will be USF students majoring in Engineering (or other engineering-related disciplines such as Math, Computer Science, Physics, etc.) with relevant course and student leadership experience. Please see this document for a more detailed job description and requirements for this position.

Applications submitted by the end of the day on Sunday, May 17, 2026 will receive full consideration.
