Greek Life

The University of San Francisco's Greek community strives to provide opportunities for growth and excellence in academics, service, leadership, friendship, ritual, and social advancement. When you become a member of a social fraternity or sorority at USF, you're not only joining a brotherhood or sisterhood, but joining a family with over 50 years of campus history.

Becoming part of a Greek organization provides college students with many benefits, such as brotherhood and sisterhood, gaining skills that help you become a more confident and effective leader and joining a network of alumni who are dedicated to making your experience after college more meaningful and engaging.

AB 524 Act Requirements

The Campus-Recognized Sorority and Fraternity Transparency Act (AB 524) requires higher education institutions to enforce annual reporting requirements on all campus-recognized sororities and fraternities and to suspend those that do not comply with these requirements. This report is expected to be published annually on or before October 1 for the preceding academic year.

According to AB 524, a “‘Campus-recognized sorority or fraternity’ means a sorority or fraternity that has officially met the formal chartering and recognition requirements at the institution where it operates.” If a social sorority or fraternity is not included in the report, it is not recognized by the university.
