2025 Go Move Challenge: Week One Recap
February 1 - 7, 2025

Published February 7, 2025
Happy 13th Anniversary to the Go Move Challenge! We're 7 days into the challenge and off to a roaring start. With 20 universities competing this year, our participation continues to grow and our minutes continue to be impressive. Creighton, Santa Clara, and Saint Louis were our top 3 last year. Which university will be our top mover this year?
New this year: In addition, to the university that tracks the most minutes, and the university that averages the most number of minutes per person, we have introduced a size category where the universities will compete against their similar sized universities.
Events to Get Participants Motivated and Moving
- Saint Louis University is hosting several events throughout the month with a focus of recognizing employees who inspire others.
- Santa Clara once again has a record number of teams: 60 this year! The winning team will be a awarded a wellness basket at the end of the month.
- USF's Interim President and Chief Mission Officer, Fr. John Fitzgibbons, created a promo video to help get employees pumped to participate.
Let's Get This Party Started
Many of our universities had kick-off parties to encourage employees to participate
Saint Peter's University
Saint Peter’s University hosted a kick-off event in the Mac Mahon Student Center giving out healthy snacks and encouraging folks to sign up for the challenge. The Office of Student Involvement is hosting a Go Move Challenge - Student Edition so students can also take part in the fun.
University of San Francisco
At USF, Provident Credit Union sponsored a pre-game reception and Athletics provided tickets to the USF vs LMU women's basketball game to kick off the challenge. With over 90 participants, we have a chance to mingle, eat, raffle off other vendor donated items, and cheer on our basketball team.
Fairfield University
Danielle Anderson, Fairfield's Operations and Membership Coordinator as well as their Go Move Challenge University admin, announced that they have broken their record for number of Fairfield participants. Congrats! They've also been hovering around position number 3. Way to go! Danielle shared that they had a kick-off party where they served healthy food and a chance to win raffle prizes. This year, she's been promoting through flyers, university announcements, and most importantly, word of mouth. Fairfield is looking strong. Keep up the great work!
