Professional Development Funding Application and Requirements

Graduate Career Management and the Office of Graduate Student Success & Engagement (OGSSE) have joined together to provide students with funding to subsidize the cost of professional development activities. All enrolled Masagung Graduate School of Management (SOM) students are eligible to apply.

Eligibility

In order to be eligible to apply you must:

  1. Be a registered SOM graduate student.
  2. Be in good academic standing.

Funding

Funding is available for professional development conference, workshop, professional development event fee/registration, and professional organization membership.

  1. Students may be eligible to receive up to $100 per academic year (August - May). This is a one-time submission only. You will not receive credit if you spend less than $100.
  2. Funds must be used to cover registration fees only.
  3. Funds may not be applied toward coursework, certifications or travel expenses.
  4. Funding is not guaranteed.
  5. Funding is contingent upon the department’s available budget.
  6. Students are reimbursed upon returning from the conference/event.
  7. Students must submit a request for reimbursement of registration/conference fee within thirty (30) days after the conference/event ends.
  8. Students may only submit ONE reimbursement request to the university. You may not submit duplicate requests to other university departments.

Application

  1. In order to apply, you submit the application and be approved BEFORE seeking reimbursement.
  2. Each application will be reviewed within 7-10 business days.
  3. An email confirmation will be sent once the application has been reviewed and a decision made.
  4. All applications should be approved prior to any expenses being incurred.
