This method lets you specifically ignore items for import into the new course, such as old Announcements and old Zoom meeting calendar events. - How do I copy just a specific Module, Assignment, Discussion, Page or Quiz to another course?
Use these methods if you just need to copy the single Canvas asset to another course you own.
Tips and Best Practices
- If you are importing from a previous semester, select the Adjust events and due dates option. This will reveal the Remove dates button. Click this button to clear all previous dates used for Assignments etc. Once you have imported your assignment to the new course, you will find a very handy tool to easily add new dates for all your imported assignments.
- If you used the Zoom tool to create reoccurring meetings in your old course, this automatically generated multiple calendar events. You can omit these from the import by deselecting them from the Calendar section, when you choose the select specific content import option above.
- Draft State settings are retained in course imports. For example, if an assignment is unpublished in a course, the assignment will also be unpublished in the content import.
