Dear USF Community,
San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) has recently informed us of a sewer upgrade being done on Shrader street between Grove and Fulton Streets (just west of Kendrick Hall). The work began on Monday, September 26, and is continuing through mid-October. This will be similar to the work done in May and June on Fulton Street. The general work schedule (weather permitting) is Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 5:00 pm.
This project will impact our community due to construction noise, vibration, and delayed access to our parking garages. While Kendrick parking garages will be accessible during this time, there could be a 10–15-minute delay to enter and exit the garages. Additionally, the northbound lane on Shrader will be closed so you will be required to enter the Kendrick parking garages by going south on Shrader from Fulton, and turning left into the parking garages from Shrader. (See photo below).
During the construction we encourage community members with valid parking permits to consider parking at the Koret Center Parking Lot (just two blocks away - Parker/Turk). From 9:00 am - 3:30 pm (Mon-Fri) valet parking is available at either Koret parking entrance. Regardless of where you decide to park, please allow an additional 10-15 minutes to park each day of this project. There will be spotters stationed on each end of the block to direct traffic. If you are parking in Kendrick, you may need to alert the spotters that you need to access the Kendrick Hall lot so they can allow you access during the most congested parts of the day.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and are working with SFPUC to mitigate the impact felt around. If you have any concerns or questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to our office by Phone at 415-422-4222, Email: Parking@usfca.edu, or dropping by our main office located on the University Center 5th Floor.
Sincerely,
The Department of Public Safety
