Student Advisory Committee

The Student Advisory Committee is an important source of input and guidance about the interests of USF's student body. The role of the Student Advisory Committee is to give voice to the incredibly wide‐ranging interests of our student body as far as international education and international student issues, to help reflect student priorities to OII, to serve as ambassadors for the Office of International Initiatives, and to participate in OII programs and initiatives as needed (attend OII events, introduce speakers, emcee events).

the Student Advisory Committee will give students broad familiarity with the field of global education and international student issues and will provide a meaningful opportunity to develop important leadership skills such as strategic thinking, decision‐making, facilitation, presentation skills, and organizational experience.

SAC mutual commitment:

The SAC meets at least three times a semester (1.5 hours per meeting) during the academic year, responds to requests for feedback or input from the Office of International Initiatives, and may be asked to meet additionally throughout the year if needed. The total time commitment for participants is estimated at 12-15 hours per semester for two semesters. Advisory committee members should be prepared to commit for two semesters. The position awards a modest scholarship in recognition of the nature of the position as a leadership role and investment on the part of student representatives.
