Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) assists students in resolving problems which interfere with their optimal functioning. Students can receive brief individual or couples therapy; those requiring or desiring longer term counseling will be provided with referrals. The cost of services is included as part of the student's tuition and fees. CAPS is staffed by licensed psychologists experienced in working with student concerns. Supervised doctoral interns also provide counseling. Faculty and staff are welcome to use CAPS for a consultation or referral to outside agencies.

The primary mission of the Priscilla A. Scotlan Career Services Center (CSC) is to assist USF students and alumni in developing, evaluating, and effectively implementing their career plans. To fulfill this mission, the Career Services Center provides career counseling, career and industry information, career planning guides, career information programs, job search preparation, recruiting activities, employment and internship listings, and graduate school resources. CSC hosts two signature programs: The Fall Career Premiere in the Fall and JOB FEST in the Spring semester. Note: The School of Law and Graduate School of Management have separate career service offices to facilitate their students' career planning needs.

Students enrolled in a USF online degree program are welcome to use the variety of online resources available from the Gleeson Library | Geschke Center. There are also services targeted to students like you who may not come to the San Francisco campus library. The Document Delivery Service scans and emails articles, and sends books via UPS with a prepaid return label. Through Ask a Librarian, you can choose the contact method that best suits you - email, text, phone, or live online - for help with research or library related questions.

The Learning, Writing, and Speaking Centers

The University of San Francisco offers academic assistance to all students through The Learning Center, The Writing Center, and The Speaking Center. Services are available at no additional cost to USF students and include subject-specific tutoring, writing assistance, and communications-related support. The Learning Center also provides opportunities for academic skill development, through one-on-one academic skills coaching, group workshops, and online resources.

The Office of Student Disability Services works to promote campus-wide awareness of disability and accessibility concerns. Services include: - assistance with accommodations - sign language interpreters - individual and group counseling - access to materials in alternate formats (e.g., audio tape and large print). All contacts are private and confidential. The Student Disability Services Office is located in Gleeson Library, Lower Level 20.
