Family Workshop Series

We’re excited to introduce Navigating College Together: Supporting Your Student’s Journey, a new virtual workshop series for USF parents and family members. Each session will provide practical tools, helpful insights, and campus resources to help you support your student’s success at USF.
- Workshops will take place on Wednesdays at 5:30 PM, from September 24 through October 29.

Workshop #1: Wednesday, September 24
- Workshop Title: When Homesickness Hits: What Families Need to Know
- Workshop Description: Starting college is a big step not only for students, but for families too. This interactive session will share practical tools and insights to help you support your student, while also giving you space to reflect on your own experience during this transition.
Workshop #2: Wednesday, October 1
- Workshop Title: Off-Campus Housing Informational
- Workshop Description: Please join us for an Off-Campus Housing 101 Workshop. We will talk about rent prices, neighborhoods, navigating the housing search process, booking individual appointments for support, and answer some of your questions.
Workshop #3: Wednesday, October 8
- Workshop Title: From Curriculum to Career: Why Internships and LinkedIn are the Keys to Your Student’s Success
- Workshop Description: Alex Hochman, the Senior Director of Career Services, will discuss why internships are critical for a student's long-term career success and show how USF students have access to thousands of unique internship postings. Also, prepare to be dazzled by LinkedIn strategies to find and utilize alumni mentors and employment opportunities.
Workshop #4: Wednesday, October 15
- Workshop Title: One Must Travel to Learn: Studying Abroad at USF
- Workshop Description: Learn about international opportunities available to students for a semester, an academic year, or additional short-term options. The presentation will cover the application process, eligibility, costs, and programs available through USF. The second half of the workshop will feature study abroad returnees to share their experiences from abroad and answer any questions.
Workshop #5: Wednesday, October 22
- Workshop Title: Anxiety Management -- Yours and Theirs
- Workshop Description: In this session hosted by Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), we will differentiate between stress, anxiety, and panic for you and your student. We will provide resources and practical exercises to combat everyday anxieties.
Workshop #6: Wednesday, October 29
- Workshop Title: Jumpstart Your Wellness: A Family Guide to Student Health at USF
- Workshop Description: Learn how Health Promotion Services (HPS) supports the well-being of the USF student body through a comprehensive range of programs and services. Dedicated to fostering a safe, healthy, and vibrant campus community, HPS empowers students to thrive personally and academically.
