Faculty Update: New SDS Online Services and Attendance Modification Process

You may have already noticed that SDS has updated our online services portal. The new interface includes an updated look, improved navigation, and a dark mode option.

The most significant change is to the Attendance Modification process.

What’s New

  • Faculty Notification Letters will still be sent to you as usual.

  • When a student in your class has an attendance modification accommodation, you will now complete the questionnaire directly in your Instructor Portal (within mySDS Online Services, accessible via MyUSF).

  • To complete the questionnaire:

    1. Log into your Instructor Portal (single sign-on through MyUSF).

    2. On the left-hand side, click “Flex Plan.”

    3. Complete the questionnaire about your course’s attendance policies.

Key Features

  • The questionnaire asks the same questions as before (previously through Google Forms).

  • You can complete one questionnaire per class or apply one set of answers to multiple classes—helpful if you teach several courses with the same attendance policy.

  • Your responses will apply to all SDS students in that course who have requested attendance modification.

  • Once finished, select “Submit Flex Plan” at the bottom of the page.

  • Students will be able to view your responses through their portal.

  • You can copy and reuse your answers from semester to semester if your attendance policies remain the same.
