Swiping Your USF One Card
There are more than 1,500 card readers in USF's One Card network, and each reader displays its current status.
Swiping Your USF One Card at a Card Reader
A reader with a solid or blinking green light indicates that the door is unlocked and a card swipe is not required for entry. (This occurs on most perimeter doors during normal operating hours.) A reader with a solid or blinking red light indicates that the door is locked and a card swipe is required for entry.
Swiping Your USF One Card at a C-Lock
Some doors will not have a light illuminated when they are in the locked mode. Also, for added security, most doors to individual residence-hall rooms and offices (when equipped with a card reader) also require a PIN to unlock them.
When you swipe a card at a locked door, one of three responses is given: A green light indicates that access is granted A non-changing light indicates that
- you swiped your card incorrectly,
- your card is damaged and possibly demagnetized, or
- the card reader isn't reading cards at the moment.
