As the nation marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, join Jerusalem Baptist Church for a special Independence Sunday worship service honoring Dr. Clarence B. Jones for his lifelong commitment to advancing equality, freedom, and justice through nonviolent social change.
The service will take place on Sunday, July 5, at 11 a.m. at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 398 Sheridan Ave., Palo Alto. Inspired by Frederick Douglass' historic 1852 address, What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?, the program will reflect on the enduring legacy of Douglass, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and the Black Freedom Movement while exploring the ongoing pursuit of freedom, equality, and justice.
