In Memoriam: Joan Lane

We mourn the passing of Joan Lane, co-founder of The Joan and Ralph Lane Center for Catholic Social Thought and the Ignatian Tradition at the University of San Francisco. Joan’s wit, wisdom, and dedication to education created a legacy at the USF. 

We will forever be grateful to Joan for her relentless support of the Lane Center, which continues to serve the USF community in expanding opportunities to engage with Catholic social thought and our Ignatian roots. 

Our heartfelt prayers and condolences go out to her family and friends as we join them in celebrating her life and honoring her memory.

There will be a Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 18 at 10:00am at St. John of God Parish, 1290 5th Avenue, San Francisco, reception to follow immediately in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, please make a gift to the non- profit of your choice in Joan’s memory.
