Together in a Season of New Beginnings

Dear USF Community,

We find ourselves in a season when many faith traditions invite us to pause and begin again. Today, as Christians, we enter Lent on Ash Wednesday and start the 40-day journey toward Easter. This week also marks the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Horse, a time for family, gratitude, and new beginnings. Ramadan has begun, calling Muslims around the world to prayer and fasting. Soon, Hindus will celebrate Holi, welcoming spring with color and joy.

While the practices differ, the themes are familiar — reflection, renewal, and community. We are reminded that growth often begins with honesty about where we are and hope for where we can be. And we are reminded that we do this together.

In our Jesuit Catholic tradition, cura personalis calls us to care for the whole person. May this be a season when we look inward with humility and outward with generosity, where we support one another with patience and compassion.

Thank you for all you contribute to our community. Whatever lies ahead, we move forward together, grounded in our shared values and sustained by hope.

May this season bring you peace and renewal.

Kindly,
