First Generation Initiatives

Mission Statement

First Generation Initiatives (FGI) at the University of San Francisco is responsible for first generation student support and programming for first generation undergraduates. 

Goals

• Grow Muscat Scholars Program by 25% each year from 2022- 2026 serving a total of 150-200 students in the program over our new four year model. 
• Overall increase in Muscat Scholars first-generation student satisfaction with USF experience. 
• Increase Muscat Scholars Program first-generation STEM graduates at USF by 10% by year four.

Definitions 

 A first generation student is the first person in their immediate family to attend college in the United States.
