Fall 2025 financial aid disbursement

Financial aid disbursement for fall 2025 begins on August 11 (excluding Law students). Your financial aid, including grants, scholarships, and loans, are applied directly to your university charges. Be sure to review your financial aid portal to confirm all aid has been accepted and unsatisfied requirements are completed. Review your billing statement in View & Pay to verify your financial aid has been applied to your fall bill. If your financial aid exceeds your bill, the remaining credit will be processed as a refund via paper check or direct deposit. We strongly recommend setting up direct deposit as it is the fastest and safest way to receive your refund. Please allow 2-3 weeks for refunds to process. Learn more about disbursements and instructions to set up direct deposit.

Summer 2025 financial aid

Are you planning to enroll in summer classes and utilize financial aid? Financial aid funds for summer are typically limited for most students. For our continuing undergraduate and graduate students, once you are enrolled in summer courses, the Financial Aid Office will assess your eligibility within 2-3 days. For new undergraduate and graduate students, your summer financial aid eligibility will be reviewed within a week of receiving your 2024-25 FAFSA. Your financial aid package will be available through your myUSF Self-Service portal, where you can review and either accept or decline the aid offered. If you would like to discuss your financial aid eligibility prior to registering for the summer term, we encourage you to contact the Financial Aid Office to speak with a counselor.

2025-26 FAFSA and ca dream act application now live

We're excited to share that the 2025-2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and CA Dream Act Application (CADAA) are now available for all students and their families to complete. This application is required to apply for or renew your financial aid for the upcoming fall 2025, spring 2026, and summer 2026 semesters. Renewal of the FAFSA or CADAA is also required for University aid and the Global Award. To assist you, we’ve created a step-by-step video guide that explains how to complete the FAFSA form, identify your contributor(s), and address other key topics. Additionally, we'll also be hosting Financial Aid Night later in February 2025 where you can complete your FAFSA or CADAA with a financial aid advisor and to get your questions answered. More details to come.
