Graduate Student Senate Senators

Meet the 2018–19 Senator Representatives

There are up to nine senator representatives to complete the Graduate Student Senate. They represent the voice of the Associated Graduate Students of the University of San Francisco (AGSUSF). Senator representatives are responsible primarily to their respective AGSUSF constituent community.

College of Arts and Sciences Representatives (2)

Taylor Martin

M.A. Candidate | December 2018
Program: International Studies
School: College of Arts and Sciences 
Hometown: Sacramento, CA

Taylor serves as one of the Graduate Student Senators for the College Arts and Sciences and is an International Studies Masters Candidate. Receiving her BA in International Service and US- Russian Relations from American University, Taylor has continued to follow her passion for international relations at USF, writing her thesis on US - Russian approaches to counterterrorism policies. Following her Masters, Taylor plans to pursue a career in California government and attend law school to become an immigration lawyer. In her free time, Taylor can be found in the shade of St. Ignatius watching Youtube or cooing over strangers' dogs. 


Scott Palider

Program: International Studies 
School: College of Arts and Science 
Hometown: Cleveland, OH

Scott Palider currently serves as the College of Arts and Science Representative while he is finishing up his thesis for his M.A. in International Studies. Scott previously attended the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY where he graduated with a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in International Studies while also participating in student government as an undergraduate. After graduation from USF Scott hopes to obtain his Ph.D. and become a professor of Political Science. In order to stay sane Scott enjoys lifting heavy, playing baseball, and petting all the dog he meets.

Keith Rivers

E.d.D Candidate | May 2020
Program: Organization & Leadership
School: School of Education
Hometown: Richmond, CA

Keith holds an M.B.A degree with a concentration in Marketing, an M.A. degree in Political Science, and M.A. degree in Culture & Spirituality. He earned his double major B.A. from UC Riverside in Political Science and African American studies. Keith also earned two A.A. degrees from Laney College.

Kyle Juedes

M.S. Candidate | December 2018
Program: Financial Analysis
School: School of Management 
Hometown: Rancho Cucamonga, CA 

Kyle Juedes is the 2018-19 School of Management Representative for the Graduate Student Senate. Kyle is currently working on his M.S. in financial analysis at USF. He graduated from the University of California, Riverside in 2017, where he studied economics and finance. In his spare time, he likes hiking, hanging out with his friends, watching movies, or going to see a baseball game.

School of Nursing and Health Professions Representatives (2)

Kendra Murthil- Portillo
Masters in Public Health and Doctorate in Nursing | May 2021
Programming: BSN to MPH/ Family Nurse Practitioner/ DNP
School: Nursing and Health Professions
Hometown: New Orleans, LA

Kendra has been practicing nursing for over five years. Throughout her career, she has worked as a school nurse and public health nurse within various communities throughout California. She received her Bachelor's in Nursing from Samuel Merritt University and is currently working on completing her Master's in Public Health, Family Nurse Practitioner licensure, and Doctorate in Nursing Practice here at the University of San Francisco. Kendra currently lives in the East Bay within her husband and fur babies: Churro, Pomi, and Clue. 

 

Vicki Lee
Masters of Nursing |May 2019
Program: Master of Science in Nursing
School: Nursing and Health Professions
Hometown: Castro Valley, CA

Vicki Lee serves as the 2018-2019 SONHP Representative for Graduate Student Senate. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science Nursing and previously holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development from UC Davis. After graduating from USF, she would like to work as a Registered Nurse in the Bay Area. As an individual who is passionate about helping and advocating for others, Vicki looks forward to collaborating with the SONPH graduate student body to hear their voices and convey their needs. In her free time, she enjoys exploring San Francisco and discovering new boba milk tea spots


 

Campus Representative

Krystie Johnson 

Masters of Nursing | August 2019
Program: MSN- Clinical Nurse Leader
School: Nursing and Health Professions
Hometown: Sarasota, FL

Krystie Johnson currently serves as the Branch Campus representative for the Graduate Student Senate. Krystie is a passionate Registered Nurse, currently enrolled USF pursuing a Masters of Nursing degree(MSN). Krystie is the Director of Nursing (DON) for an Ambulatory Surgical Center. she hopes to go on to pursue her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at USF after her MSN. Like in her DON role Krystie wants to create an open dialogue within the campuses she represents to promote growth. She hopes to accomplish this by utilizing Transformational leadership qualities to inspire fellow classmates to involvement.
