The AMCAS (American Medical College Application Service) is an online application service used by medical school applicants to gather and organize information to electronically forward to medical schools you choose to apply to.
AMCAS charges an application processing fee of $160 for one (1) medical school designation, and $33 for each designation thereafter. Those with extreme financial limitations may apply for the AMCAS Fee Assistance Program (FAP).
Additional documents and information you must include with your medical school application are:
- GPA and academic record
- Transcripts
- Personal statement
- MCAT scores
- Letters of recommendation - most medical schools need at least three letters of recommendation (2 from science faculty and 1 non-science).
- Interview – medical school interviews are typically comprised of one interview with a current medical student and one interview with a faculty member.
