Meet Trina Garry (she/her/hers)
Katrina “Trina” Garry joined the Title IX team as the Deputy Title IX Coordinator in April of 2021. Trina came to the University of San Francisco after spending 3 years at Yale University working in the Yale College Dean's Office as a Student Affairs Associate. At Yale, her work was based in the Office of Gender and Campus Culture and the Alcohol and Other Drugs Harm Reduction Initiative. Trina helped manage the Communication and Consent Educator program, a group of students working to foster a more positive social and sexual climate on campus through workshops, interventions, and peer support. Some highlights from Yale include planning Take Back the Night programming, running workshops with every athletic team annually for NCAA compliance, and supporting Restorative Justice initiatives on campus.
Trina earned her B.A. at Yale and her M.s.Ed in Higher Education at the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education. Trina is currently pursuing her JD part-time from the University of San Francisco School of Law as a Provost Scholar. Her research interests include sexual violence prevention, athletics, Title IX, and gender equity in higher education. During her time as an undergraduate at Yale, Trina ran cross country and track and field. In her free time, Trina enjoys running in the park, reading, and surfing and is looking forward to discovering the best ice cream in San Francisco!
