Yes. USF is committed to maintaining a diverse student body, and undocumented students are encouraged to apply for admission. The application process is identical for everyone. You will be asked to identify your country of birth and citizenship, but at no point will you be required to indicate whether or not you are undocumented.

No. You are not required to provide an SSN for admission purposes.

While undocumented students are not eligible to receive federal aid, there are a variety of USF scholarships, grants, and loans for which you may be eligible, including Cal Grants or University Grants through the California DREAM Act.

USF can offer employment to undocumented students who are DACA eligible. All students who are employed by the University must first provide documentation showing their eligibility for employment. This applies to any position through which the student receives compensation from the University.

Yes, undocumented students can apply for campus housing. For more information, visit the Student Housing and Residential Education page.

USF welcomes all students to apply for admission, regardless of their citizenship status. However, there are programs that may have state-mandated residency status requirements or background checks, including programs in the School of Education and School of Nursing and Health Professions.
