Go Dons Get Fit Challenge Kick-Off
Thursday, Oct. 2 | 12 - 1 p.m. | Welch Field
Join Fr. Donal Godfrey, S.J. for a climb up the winding staircase of St. Ignatius, ending with breathtaking views from the top. This special walk counts toward the Go Dons Get Fit challenge—so be sure to log every minute at http://godonsgetfit.org Note: If you are claustrophobic or uncomfortable with heights, this tour may not be for you. All are welcome and no registration is necessary.
Keep the momentum going with KIN Recess!*
Before or after the Tower Tour, join the Kinesiology Department, Kinesiology Student Association, and Exercise is Medicine on Campus Ambassadors for games and play on Welch Field, 12–12:45 p.m. We’ll have balls, frisbees, and other equipment ready—or bring your own and jump in for some active fun!

Go Dons Get Fit Walk of the Week: Reflections on Happiness
Thursday, Oct. 9 | 12-1 p.m. | Meet in front of Gleeson Library
Join Professor Patrick McDonnell (Rhetoric & Language) for a one-hour walking tour inspired by Jenny Donovan’s Recipes for Urban Happiness. Starting and ending at Gleeson Library, we’ll explore how campus design shapes our wellbeing—mentally, emotionally, socially, and physically. This interactive journey will uncover the hidden messages in our spaces and invite us to imagine new ways of connecting with ourselves and our community.

Go Dons Get Fit Walk of the Week: Dahlia and Art Walk through GG Park
Thursday, Oct. 16 | 12 - 1 p.m. | Golden Gate Park
Join us for our weekly Go Dons Get Fit walk as we head to Golden Gate Park! The more the merrier, so grab a colleague as we take a refreshing stroll to enjoy vibrant flowers and inspiring artwork along JFK Promenade. Just beside the Conservatory of Flowers, we will enjoy the Dahlia Dell—a hidden gem bursting with hundreds of colorful dahlias in full summer bloom. Free and open to the public, this garden is the perfect spot to pause, take in the beauty, and recharge. And, you will have earned 60 minutes of movement for the Go Dons Get Fit Challenge!
Go Dons Get Fit Walk of the Week: Urban Trail
Thursday, October 23 | 12 - 1 p.m.
Rack up more minutes for the 9th annual Go Dons Get Fit Challenge and join us for this guided mindful walk around our beautiful campus, led by Sarah Camhi, professor of kinesiology.
Grab a colleague, friend, or relative, all are invited! No RSVP is needed.
The URBAN Trail is a guided mindful walk around the University of San Francisco (USF) campus aimed to boost your mind, body and spirit (Cura Personalis). Trail content is based on a book written by USF professor and alumnus Hal Urban, The Power of Good News: Feeding Your Mind with What’s Good for Your Heart. 2021: Berrett-Koehler Publishers.
