A Message of Hope and Solidarity

Dear Members of the USF Community,

As we begin 2026 and a new semester, allow me the opportunity to express my deep gratitude for the extraordinary efforts you make for and alongside one another every day in the shared hope of leaving this world better than we found it.

I recognize this is a time of uncertainty for many in our community, given the unsettling events of the past few weeks. Yet, it is my greatest hope that together we can sustain our shared commitment to one another. This community, rooted in the Jesuit values of human dignity, solidarity, and care for the whole person, stands with one another.

In the spirit of that support, I want to highlight the resources available:

Times of doubt and apprehension call us to lead with empathy, to listen deeply, to care for one another, and to honor the humanity in each member of our community. Let us continue to stand in solidarity, united in our desire for peace both here and around the world.

I wish you all a semester filled with hope, perseverance, and peace.

Kindly,
Salvador D. Aceves ’83, EdD ’95
