Veronica Lindsey

Veronica Lindsey

My name is Veronica Lindsey! I am a fourth year Environmental science major! The desire to help first-generation students is deeply rooted in a sense of gratitude and a profound connection to the community that shaped one's life, emphasizing the transformative power of education and the importance of extending opportunities to those facing disadvantages. This commitment to giving back is not just a personal calling but also a testament to the challenges faced by first-generation students, as the individual's own experiences navigating higher education without family guidance create a powerful bond and empathy for those who are the first in their families to embark on this educational journey.

Hazel Mae Ricardo

Hazel Mae Ricardo

Hello my name is Hazel Mae Ricardo I am a second year Nursing Major. As a fellow first-gen myself, I’m driven to support other student who, like me, are venturing into an untouched territory on their educational journey. I’m eager to share the highs and lows I’ve experienced to help pave their path as they embark on this life-changing adventure. It’s my goal to educate them with various resources available on campus and provide important information I wish I had known coming into my freshman year.

Stefanie Garcia

Stefanie Garcia

Hello my name is Stefanie Garcia (she/her/hers) I am a second-year Biology major. I want to work with first-generation students because I want my fellow first-generation peers to succeed in college. As a first-generation student, I know the many challenges that we face, such as imposter syndrome, feeling like they don't belong on campus and more. This is a fulfilling experience for me to be able to help my peers and give back to USF.
