Tuition Remission Eligibility
Below is eligibility information for the Tuition Remission benefit. Staff or faculty covered by a collective bargaining agreement should refer to their respective agreements for detailed information.
Please note that the term dependent children used below refers to tax dependents of an employee, as defined under the Internal Revenue Code (IRC).
Eligibility Group 1
- Administrative Staff
- Associated Law Professors and Professional Librarians (ALPPL)
- Executive Officers
- International Union of Operating Engineers, Stationary Local 39*
- Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU), Local 29*
- Public Safety Officers Association (PSOA)*
- Service Employee International Union (SEIU)

- University of San Francisco Faculty Association (USFFA) Full-time Faculty (may request to enroll in courses through the Academic Career Prospectus (ACP) process or in written communication with the Dean)
- University of San Francisco Faculty Association (USFFA) Librarians (may request to enroll in courses through the Librarian Career Prospectus (LCP) process or in written communication with the Dean)

**Benefits are also extended to academically eligible spouses, RDPs, and tax dependent children of tenured faculty who die or have died, or are or become totally disabled.

- University of San Francisco Part-Time Faculty Association. A member who has been placed in the Preferred Hiring Pool (PHP).

Limitation of Degrees |
One tuition remission undergraduate or graduate degree for the PHP employee, their spouse/RDP, or dependent child. A PHP employee who has completed eight (8) years of service in PHP will be eligible for a second tuition remission undergraduate or graduate degree for themselves, their spouse/RDP, or dependent child. |

Continuing Eligibility
Employees, spouses/RDP and dependent children must maintain the same academic standards required of other students to remain eligible for tuition remission. Employees and their dependents receiving tuition remission are considered students for all issues related to admissions, registration, add/drop refund policy, fee assessment, financial holds, program minimum requirements, and related matters.
