GoRelax Challenge 2014

Design Class Yoga

Congratulations to all who participated in the GoRelax Challenge this November to prepare for the busy holiday season!

Participants earned points for each day that they relaxed for five minutes through yoga or meditation per the following suggestions:

Additionally, some participants designated a specific time to convene and meditate as a department, some participants did yoga or meditated with their families, and some participants meditated while walking the Don’s Meaningful Mile. USF promotes and provides many opportunities to bring awareness into the workday and maintain work-life balance.

Based on the post-challenge survey, the most popular way to relax was through meditation. During the two-week period, 161 participants in 36 departments logged a total of 861 days of relaxing: 550 days of meditation, 221 days of yoga, and 90 days of both. Many participants enjoyed the focus on self-care, felt closer to their colleagues, and were inspired by the administrators, professors and staff who were featured in the videos. Some even developed new habits of meditating or doing yoga each day because the results were so positive.  Once participants completed the survey, their name was entered into a raffle to win a prize.  Congratulations to Melissa Duphily from SOE who is the proud owner of a FitBit Flex ($100 value).

Finally, all participants won a GoRelax towel! If you haven’t picked yours up yet, stop by Human Resources in Lone Mountain Main 339 to grab yours today.
