April 2020

Frank Allocco

Congratulations to Frank Allocco, the Cheers for Peers colleague for April! Currently the Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Relations, Frank is an inspiration on focusing on the silver lining of our current conditions.

"I am staying focused on doing my part and following the guidelines during this pandemic. I have always believed that "the biggest room in the world is the room for improvement" and with that in mind I am seizing every opportunity for mind, body, and spiritual improvement.

I am staying on a rigid schedule with pre-workday early morning workout of 30 minutes on elliptical trainer followed by 30 minutes of weight lifting, push-ups and situps. I then work at my desk and conduct several zoom meetings with our External Relations team. To make sure I am getting some fresh air, at 5:30 each day, I either walk four miles or bicycle. I am fortunate to have a yoga studio in my backyard and do Bikram Yoga prior to going to bed about 2-3 times per week.

I am learning new skills, including expansion of my computer skills and taking spanish lessons on duolingo. I am also connecting with family and friends and reading uplifting, spiritual messages and motivational podcasts.

I don't think we will ever have this opportunity again to reset our lives, our work, and our families. The key for me during this time is the strict adherence to a routine with balance between work, family, and exercise!"

Thank you for everything you do, Frank! USF is lucky to have you.
