Today is the second-to-last day of the 14th Annual Go Move Challenge! The platform will close promptly at midnight on Saturday, 2/28—there will be no grace period this year—so be sure to log your activity before then.

Don’t forget, you can still enter retroactive minutes if you missed recording any activity during the month. Final results will be shared in next week’s AJCU newsletter!

Here’s a look at what we’ve accomplished together so far:

  • 20 Jesuit Universities participating
  • 2460 employees participating
  • 284 teams created and participating
  • over 2,800,000 minutes accumulated and growing by the minute!
  • Average of 32 minutes a day per participant which is above the AHA physical activity guideline!!

The SCU Non-Stoppers Team are Still Not Stopping

Members of the Non-Stoppers share how they have been moving this month: walking around campus, post-hill climbing activity after a carnival, exercising at home, taking fur babies for walks, and baseball coaching and practice. Way to get those minutes in SCU!

Fairfield's Minutes In Motion

From pickleball lessons to elliptical machines, Fairfield's Recplex is where thousands of movement minutes were made this month. Creighton's Polar/Sun Walk

Ahhh, yes...Nebraska. 60° on Wednesday; Winter storm warning on Thursday. Completely normal for those living in the Midwest!

While the snow held off until later, 29° temps with 17mph winds from the north made outside walking a bit too chilly. Blue Jays don’t cancel, though — they pivot! Creighton’s Omaha campus moved their Polar Walk to the indoor track inside their Kiewit Fitness Center where the smaller crowd was able to walk without getting frostbite.

In contrast, their Pheonix campus had beautiful 60° weather for their Sun Walk, although they relayed the wind was a “little cooler” than normal.

Midday Moves with USF

Throughout the month, USF offered daily lunchtime activities, including the Dons walk/run group, Pickleball, the St. Ignatius Tower Tour, a Fuel and Flow Coffee Walk, Circuit Training for fac/staff, and more.

Count Down

Just one more day until the winning institutions are announced! Keep moving and logging those minutes.

The challenge platform officially closes at 11:59 p.m. PST, so be sure to enter all of your minutes by then to have them counted. If you have any questions, please contact the Go Move Challenge administrator, Suzy Kisylia, at skisylia@usfca.edu.

The University with the most minutes on 2/28 11:59pm pst wins bragging rights and this prestigious plaque!
