MyISSS Faculty and Staff Handbook

Welcome to your MyISSS recommender handbook. This new MyISSS platform provides the feature to allow faculty/staff to provide academic information related to students’ ISSS requests. You can find step-by-step instructions below. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office.

  1. You will receive an email in your inbox looks like and will contain the name of the student requesting the recommendation: Screenshot of sample email for recommendersAdvisor email
  2. Please use to the URL link in the red box above and enter the Recommendation ID and Last name of User (Student)Screenshot of faculty login page in myisss

    Once entered, click “Validate”, the following screen shows up. You will see your name under “Recommender’s name”, and  the student’s name under “user name”. Please complete the questions at the bottom of the page, and click “send”.

    Students will request a recommender for the following types of requests. If you are not familiar with these requests and need more information, please do not hesitate to contact isss@usfca.edu.

    Optional Practical Training: the recommender is confirming that the student is in good academic status and when they will complete their degree.

    Curricular Practical Training: the recommender is confirming that the practical training is part of a class or degree requirement and the job listed counts for the hours required.

    Program Extension: the recommender is confirming why the student needs more time to complete their degree, when they will complete their degree, and how many additional credits are required for the degree.Screenshot of recommenders general informationScreenshot of advisor recommendation form

There will be a box asking you to confirm the information is correct one more time. Click “OK” if the information is correct Screenshot of correct information confirmation page
