Culturescape

Friday, November 10th. 6:00pm - 9:00pm, Presentation Theater & McLaren Complex

Culturescape is an annual event hosted by the International Student Association (ISA), with support from ISSS, that celebrates the international cultures at USF. The event is comprised of both cultural performances and cuisine from around the world.

Job Success Strategies for International Students

Monday, November 13th. 5:30pm - 7:00pm. Berman Room in Fromm Hall

Former international students return to USF to share their personal stories of success in finding jobs in the U.S.! It will be a great opportunity to network with international alumni and get information from those who are currently working in the U.S.

Global Dons Fair

Tuesday, November 14th. 11:30am - 1:00pm, Gleeson Plaza. Stop by to visit with student cultural clubs, consulates, non profits, and campus offices! Learn about the diverse cultures represented in San Francisco and how you can be more engaged in international and multi-cultural volunteer projects, educational programs, internships, and service!

DACA Information Session

Presentations will be BOTH Tuesday, November 14th and Thursday, November 16th.  11:30-12:30pm, Romero Room (LL01, Phelan Hall).

These will be presented by the Task Force to Support Undocumented Students. They are open to anyone who would like to learn more about the work of the Task Force, and about the current climate and issues for undocumented community members.

Stories from Around the World

Wednesday, November 15th. 1:30-3:00pm in McLaren 250

Join current international students to share stories and folktales from around the world.

International Trivia Night

Wednesday, November 15th. 6:30am-7:30pm in every residence hall

The Resident hall staff will host a trivia night with an international theme! Talk to your RA about where to go to attend the trivia night.

From Refugee Camp to Resettlement: Personal Reflections and Action for the USF Community

Thursday, November 16th. 12:30pm - 2:00pm, FR 141 Accolti Room.

International Rescue Committee (IRC), a local refugee resettlement agency, will educate the audience on the current refugee crisis, provide an overview of the refugee landscape in the Bay Area, and inform the USF community on how we can support our refugee neighbors. Jean Pierre "Ubu" Ndagijimana, a current USF graduate student and Resident Minister, will also share his personal reflections on the resettlement process and the influence his Jesuit Education has had on his journey from a refugee camp to USF.

Stories and Food from Home

Thursday, November 16. 6pm - 7:30pm, UC 4th floor lounge

Sample authentic food and learn about the experiences and home countries of USF international students who come from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

IEW Dodgeball Tournament

Sunday November 19. 4pm - 7pm, Koret.

All USF students, faculty, and staff are invited to compete in a friendly, campus wide dodgeball tournament. Teams are co-ed and participants may join as an individual or with a teammate.

Sign-ups will be posed soon.

International Student Retreat

Saturday, November 18th. 10am - 5pm, St. Agnes Spiritual Life Center

Join fellow USF international students in a relaxing day to learn about and engage in a retreat and the Ignation motto Cura Personalis (care for the whole person).

Events Running All Week

IEW Photo Contest

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to submit an international photo (a photo from outside your home country) and vote on their favorite.

Submissions will start on October 24th and end on November 9th.
Voting will be open from November 11th to November 17th, and the winner will be announced on November 18th.

IEW Library Display

Visit the Gleeson Library all week for an international display in honor of education and cultural exchange. This year's display will be from November 6th to November 19th.
