International Education Week

International Education Week (IEW) is a nationwide celebration of educational exchange. Join us from November 17 - November 23, 2025 for a week of events that encourage intercultural exchange and uplift the unique perspectives and cultures of our community. Explore the details of this year's schedule below. IEW events are open to students, faculty, and staff.

IEW Kick Off: Bon App Pop Up and Craft Event 11/17/2025 Market Cafe 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM Join us for a flavorful and creative afternoon at our Bon App Food Pop-Ups and Craft Club kickoff event! Visit the Market Cafe during International Education Week to experience a mini world tour through Vietnam, India, and the Philippines. While you snack, check out the Craft Club table to make your own luggage tag!

Zine Making Workshop 11/18/2025 Gleeson Library Library 2nd Floor 11:30 AM-12:45 PM In this workshop, we will be creating zines (short and personal magazines) that remind us of home. No experience needed - just bring your imagination. We’ll have plenty of supplies, warm drinks and treats to spark your creativity!
Job Success Strategies for International Students 11/18/2025 McLaren Complex 6:00 - 7:15 PM Former international students return to USF to share their personal stories of success in finding jobs in the U.S! Great opportunity to network with international alumni and get information from those who are currently working in the U.S. Register!

International Student Forum 11/19/2025 Fromm 120 - Xavier Auditorium 11:45 - 12:45 PM Do you support inclusive practices for the success of international multilingual students? What questions do you have about meaningful pedagogy for diverse students at USF? Join the Department of Rhetoric and Language in discussing these issues with international undergraduate and graduate students. Coffee, tea and various refreshments will be available.

Mahjong: What’s Old is New 11/20/2025 Fromm Hall, Berman Room and Online 5:00 - 6:15 PM The Center for Asia Pacific Studies is excited to welcome Nicole Wong, a writer and producer from Oakland, California, for a special talk exploring the cultural history and contemporary revival of mahjong. After the talk, stick around for an opportunity to play mahjong.

Copies of Mahjong: House Rules from Across the Asian Diaspora will be available for purchase and signing by Nicole. This event is free and open to the public.
Cafe International: IEW Boodle Fight 11/20/2025 Intercultural Center (UC 412) 6:00 - 7:00 PM Cafe International is a space to build community and conversation with international students! Come join us for our final cafe international of the semester to feast, celebrate, and socialize with international students. This week’s theme is Boodle Fight–a classic Filipino tradition of communal feast, where food is served on a long table covered with banana leaves while we eat with our hands! Come join us to enjoy a meal and some great company, as we close off the Fall semester! This event is open to all USF community members.

Culturescape 11/21/2025 McLaren Complex 6:00 - 9:00 PM Join us for Culturescape 2025, one of USF’s most anticipated cultural showcases, presented by the International Student Association (ISA). In collaboration, the Culturescape Committee and ISA executive board have worked together to bring you this year’s theme, “Threads of Peace,” celebrating how our diverse cultures, traditions, and identities are beautifully interwoven through shared values of harmony and understanding. Hawaiian Ensemble’s 19th Annual Lū’au 11/23/2025 McLaren Complex 3:00 - 6:00 PM Join us for our 19th Annual Lū’au on Sunday, November 23rd, from 3–6 PM in McLaren! Experience an afternoon filled with the vibrant spirit of the islands as Hawaiian Ensemble proudly presents a series of student-led Hula and ‘Ori Tahiti performances that we have been preparing throughout the semester. Through music, dance, food, and storytelling, we aim to celebrate and honor the rich traditions and values of Polynesian culture. This event is a beautiful opportunity to connect with the community, learn about the history and significance behind each performance, and witness the dedication of our dancers. Whether you are new to Polynesian culture or have grown up surrounded by it, we invite you to come, enjoy, and immerse yourself in the aloha spirit. International Education Week Library Display All Week First Floor, Gleeson Library All Day Visit our display on all things International Education. The display covers topics on international education, books recommended for international students, international cuisine and dance, and USF study abroad programs!
Photo Contest All Week Online Submissions open on Oct. 29 and close on November 7. Online voting will be from November 12 - November 19 (midnight). Winners will be announced via email and the website on November 21. Students and faculty/staff are encouraged to submit a photo from a place outside of their home country that fits into one of the submission categories and ties with this year's theme of #BelongingBeyondBorders. Up to two photos may be submitted. USF community will vote on their favorite, and the photo with the most votes from each category will win a prize.
Drop-In Study Abroad Advising All Week All Week LMM 340 1:00 - 4:00 PM The pre-application deadline to study abroad Fall 2025 and/or Spring 2026 is December 10, 2025! Stop by the Center for Global Education office to talk with a study abroad advisor all week.
