Supplementary Credentials
Teacher Education Department students have the option to obtain both the Multiple and Single Subject credentials without having to complete two separate programs. If you are interested in obtaining a supplementary credential, you must do so as a currently enrolled student, i.e. directly after obtaining your first credential. Please contact your advisor ASAP if you are interested in obtaining a supplementary credential.
Requirements
Multiple Subject Credential adding Single Subject Authorization
Must add the following:
- Meeting the Subject Matter Competency Requirement your desired subject area
- Single Subject Curriculum and Instruction I course in the subject area (offered Fall semester only)
Single Subject Credential adding Multiple Subject Authorization
Must add the following:
- Meeting Subject Matter Competency Requirement for the Multiple SubjectÂ
- Passing RICA exam scores
- Multiple Subject Curriculum and Instruction: Early Literacy
- Multiple Subject Curriculum and Instruction: Math and Science
- Multiple Subject Curriculum and Instruction: Social Studies
- Multiple Subject Curriculum and Instruction: Visual and Performing Arts
