Dear Members of the USF Community,
In communicating to students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors about our COVID-19 policies and protocols, the University of San Francisco continues to comply with the requirements and guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Cal/OSHA.
We continue to require members of our community who are not vaccinated to wear face coverings indoors; and, consistent with Bay Area health officials' recommendations, fully vaccinated employees may choose to continue to wear face coverings indoors.
We are actively monitoring COVID-19 developments in the Bay Area, nationally, and internationally, including the rising cases of COVID-19 and the highly transmissible Delta variant. We are aware of the July 16 recommendation by the City and County of San Francisco that everyone, regardless of vaccination status, wear face coverings indoors in public spaces as an extra precautionary measure. Should the situation in San Francisco or on campus dictate, we are prepared to require face coverings for all individuals.
As you know, students are required to be vaccinated (unless they have a documented medical, religious, or personal exemption). Faculty and staff must attest to their vaccination status, and we strongly urge all members of the community to be vaccinated. Thank you to those students who have already submitted their documentation, and to those faculty and staff who have already completed their attestation. We will update the community on the progress of this effort on an ongoing basis.
Please be sure to reference the resources on USF Together (particularly the FAQ section) for details on the university’s policies and protocols related to COVID. As we approach the date when many of you will return to campus, we hope you and your loved ones are keeping healthy and staying safe.
Sincerely,
Julie Orio, Vice President of Student Life
Diane Lynn Nelson, Assistant Vice President of Human Resources
