Intent to Apply Form

Please use this form if you plan to apply for External Support from a government agency (city, state, or federal), a foundation, or a corporate sponsor. This form will help the University understand the nature of your project so that we can best support the development of your proposal.  The goal is to get you funding so that you can do your work, and together “we can change the world from here.”

 Please note the following:

  • The approval of your Dean is required two (2) times in the fund seeking process - first through this form (enabling us to help you develop a proposal), and second, through a subsequent form prior to submission of the completed proposal.
  • If indirect costs are not allowed by the funder/sponsor, additional USF approval(s) will be required prior to proposal submission.
  • Please verify your eligibility before submitting an ITA submission by referring to USF's eligibility policy in the USF Grants Manual on page six. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to the Office of Contracts and Grants.

Twenty (20) business days’ notice are required to guarantee enough time for gathering approvals internal and external to USF, as well as support the crafting of a complete and compelling narrative and project budget adhering to university policies. If you are less than 20 days before the application deadline, DO NOT SUBMIT this application. Instead, contact one of the following to schedule a consult: for government submissions OR for foundation and corporate submissions.
