Committee Expectations
OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
Departmental committees are convened to perform a function, coordinate major processes, or advance strategic initiatives on behalf of the greater department. Delegating work in this way invites staff to unite multiple perspectives and share responsibility in achieving the charge of each committee/workgroup while providing members a professional development opportunity.
COMMITTEES
Resident Advisor (RA) Training & Development Committee
This committee is responsible for the development and distribution of staff training and development throughout the year for all Resident Advisors (RAs). This includes the implementation of all major training sessions as well as identified training and developments done off-cycle or for ongoing development.
Senior Staff Training & Development Committee
This committee is responsible for the development and distribution of staff training and development throughout the year for all Residence Directors (RDs), Assistant Residence Directors (ARDs), and Graduate Assistants. This includes the implementation of all major training sessions as well as identified training and development done off-cycle for ongoing development.
Resident Advisor (RA) Selection Committee
This committee is responsible for leading the recruitment and selection efforts for Resident Advisors (RAs). This committee advertises and markets the available opportunities in addition to coordinating the interview and selection processes. This committee also oversees a welcome event for new RAs and administers the Appointment Agreement.
Staff Recognition & Social Media Committee
This committee is responsible for facilitating relationship building amongst Senior Staff throughout the year. This committee is also responsible for running the department's social media platforms. This committee develops a plan for social media engagement that both educates students and informs them of social opportunities.
