As spring break approaches, the Department of Public Safety and Facilities Management are preparing for the annual fire alarm inspection for all of the buildings on main campus. This inspection is part of the university’s ongoing effort to ensure the safety of its community.
Facility engineers will be testing and inspecting the horns and strobes on the fire alarm units to ensure they are functioning properly and will report any deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are taken.
When the fire alarm activates...
- ALL occupants need to immediately evacuate their space and use the stairs to exit the building.
- DO NOT use the elevators.
- Once outside the building, move away and assemble in your designated emergency assembly area.
- Remain outside the building until a Public Safety officer or building marshal allows you to return.
