The certificate programs is designed for students who would like to pursue their French studies beyond a minor but whose other commitments make it difficult for them to declare a second major.
French majors and minors are strongly encouraged to study abroad and spend a semester or a junior-year in a French or francophone speaking country.
USF sponsors several international programs for students:

Pi Delta Phi, French Honor Society
Omicron Gamma, the USF chapter of Pi Delta Phi, was established in April 2012. The initiation ceremony, which includes a celebration of French and Francophone culture performed by students, is held once a year in November. At commencement, members sport the blue, white and red cords of the Honor society. The current moderator is Prof. Karen Bouwer (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The National French Honor Society recognizes outstanding scholarship in the French language and Francophone literatures. Current students are eligible to apply for generous scholarships for summer study abroad in France and Québec.
