In-Person Drop-In Hours

Drop in for a chat about anything career-related! This is a casual, informal way to interact with our Career Planning Peers who can assist you with anything that's on your mind.  No preparation or pre-registration is required. Drop in, hang out, and chat about some of the amazing resources that our office has for you!  

Spring 2024 In-Person Drop-Ins are hosted on Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm on UC 1st Floor, and on Thursdays from 12:00 - 1:00 pm at Lone Mountain Cafeteria.

Drop-ins are good for the following inquiries:

  • Resume & Cover Letter Questions
  • LinkedIn questions
  • General Career Center questions

Appointments

Meet with a Career Counselor to get personalized help for your career, job, and internship needs.  We have a team of dedicated professionals excited to meet you wherever you are in your career journey!  

Current students can log in to Handshake to schedule their one-on-one appointment. 

Alumni need to call or email our front desk at 415-422-6216 or careerservices@usfca.edu to schedule an appointment.

The following appointment types are 30 minutes unless otherwise noted and are available for pre-scheduled one-on-one appointments:

  • Resume 
  • Cover Letter 
  • Major and Career Exploration (1 hour)
  • LinkedIn 
  • Job & Internship Search
  • Salary Negotiations
  • Mock Interviews (1 hour)
  • Focus Career Assessment 
  • Handshake questions
  • General Career Center questions

Appointment Guidelines

A Zoom link will be provided in the comments section of your Handshake appointment the day before your appointment.  For appointments made the same day or after 5pm for the next day, Zoom links will be posted ASAP in the Comments section.

Cancellation Policy:

If you need to cancel your appointment less than 12 hours before your scheduled appointment, it is required that you do one of the following: call our Front Desk (415-422-6216), send an email to our office (careerservices@usfca.edu), send a Message via Handshake to the counselor you were to meet.  If you fail to contact our office before your appointment is scheduled to begin, the appointment will be marked as a No Show. Please see No Show Policy below.

No Show Policy:

If you do not come to your scheduled appointment, or are more than 10 minutes late, you are marked as a No Show and will be blocked from making future appointments with Career Services until you send a professional apology email to careerservices@usfca.edu stating the reason for not fulfilling your commitment to attend an appointment including:

  • A professional greeting
  • A sincere apology
  • An explanation of missed appointment

Your ability to make future appointments will be unblocked once the apology email is received.
