Signature Programs

Lyricist Lounge

Lyricist Lounge is designed for poets, MCs, and singers, to perform their work witnessed by their fellow Dons.

Prior to Fall 2020, the University Center 4th Floor Lounge would transform into Lyricist Lounge, the hippest spot in San Francisco. Students gathered to hear peers address social justice issues, identity expression, experiences of oppression and triumph, and more. We will be reimagining this space of student expression through poetry and music for a virtual, online format, so please follow us through our newsletter or social media for the latest updates!

Cultural Diversity Immersion Workshops

These workshops offer students the opportunity to build skills and knowledge to advocate for racial justice and understand and define their roles in activism. Successful completion of each segment in the series can earn students digital badges to display their skills.

The full series will contain nine workshops, and they are broken down into three "badge" segments: identity awareness, interpersonal engagement, and solidarity building. Workshops with a badging component provide more than just a live Zoom workshop. Students get access to a Canvas course with additional resources and ways to engage with the content, as well as participate in a reflection activity that is submitted after the workshop.

End of the Year Ceremonies

Each event is designed to highlight the outstanding work our students have accomplished in the areas of service, academics, and leadership, while affirming the unique challenges and experiences they share.  Academic programs, cultural organizations, and the Cultural Centers unite to host the End of the Year Ceremonies each year. Community Meet-ups

The Cultural Centers provide spaces for student community-building and dialogue.  Each program will happen once a month, and the communities for the 2021-2022 school year include:

  • Trans* & Non-binary
  • Queer Black Indigenous Peoples of Color (BIPOC)
  • Cafe International (for international students)
