History

In January 2012, Provost Jennifer Turpin and Vice Provost Mary Wardell-Ghirarduzzi launched and established the University Council on Diversity and Inclusion. The first co-chairs appointed by the Vice Provost to lead the council are University Registrar and Associate Dean, Robert Bromfield; Director of Operations, Aouie Rubio; and Associate Dean, Shabnam Koirala-Azad.

In Fall 2013 the council hosted it's first university-wide event with School of Education's Dean Kevin Kumashiro. The council continues to grow and review campus initiatives and communicate diversity efforts as the campus climate changes.
