Prepare for Election Day
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING
In most cases, a California voter is not required to show identification to a polling place worker before casting a ballot.
However, if you are voting for the first time after registering to vote by mail and did not provide your driver license number, California identification number or the last four digits of your social security number on your registration form, you may be asked to show a form of identification when you go to the polls.
FIND YOUR POLLING LOCATION
Your voting location is printed on the back of the sample ballot booklet you receive by mail. You can also find your polling place by entering your registered voting address. Find your polling location »
VOTE BY MAIL
Any registered voter may vote early by a vote-by-mail ballot. Download the application. Voted ballots must be returned before the polls close at 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. Learn more about the vote-by-mail process »
