Core A2 (Rhetoric & Composition) Pathway to Completion
All USF students are required to complete the Core A2 (Rhetoric & Composition) requirement prior to graduation.
Core A2 and Business Core Courses
Core A2 completion is a co-requisite or pre-requisite for all School of Management (SOM) Business Core courses (BUS 201, BUS 202, 204, 205, 302, 304, 305, 308, 401/403/406) other than BUS 100. Therefore, it is important to start your Rhetoric & Composition sequence during your first semester and continue until you have completed the Core A2 requirement.
The Rhetoric and Composition Placement Process
After being admitted to USF, most students complete a directed self-placement to place themselves into a Rhetoric and Composition course and pathway. Some students are placed into AEM courses by the Department of Academic English for Multilingual Students (depending on test scores).
