Special Orientation Programs

Some of our new students & family members may be a part of a campus program that will be offering additional programming. Registration for each of these programs is required. New students can sign up for these programs when they register for Orientation.

Fall 2019 Orientation registration will open on May 1, 2019.

There will be optional activities before the mandatory sessions to help new incoming international students get settled, meet new friends, and get familiar with the campus. New International student move-in day is Tuesday, August 13. New international students moving into on-campus housing are expected to arrive this day to be ready for the orientation activities. Designed by Black students, faculty, and staff to welcome new Black students & their family members to the University of San Francisco Black Experience. BSO is intended to create a smooth transition to college life, acclimate students to on and off-campus resources, address the needs of African American/Black students at USF and build community with Black students, faculty, and staff. First generation students and their families will learn from current USF students, families and administrators on how to thrive in college. This workshop will bring awareness to on-campus resources that support students' holistic development and academic success. Applies to new students who are first in their family to attend a four-year university.

This program is for families whose first language is Spanish. Come and learn about the resources and tips for supporting your student through the eyes of the staff, returning students and their family members.

Transfer Student & Family Orientation program allows new transfer students and family members to learn more about USF. Current USF transfer students and staff members will be present to help answer your questions and provide helpful information. Lunch will be provided.
