Tips for New Transfers
1. Confirm your previous institution(s) Transfer Credits are here at USF
Recommended for student to complete in first 2-3 weeks of the first semester
- Confirm final official transcript was sent from previous institution(s) to USF.
- Complete the Transfer Credit Request Form to update or change your transfer credit(s) from institutions attended prior to enrolling at USF. Connect with the Office of the University Registrar to review transfer credit(s) and proper allocation of University Core classes.
- For possible transfer (or further evaluation) of major classes, refer to your Major Department.
2. Determine your Graduation Plan (time to complete degree)
Recommended for student to complete in first 2-3 weeks of the first semester
- Meet with your faculty adviser for class sequencing, class advisement, and to create a graduation plan.
- Your graduation plan may be dependent on financial aid (Visit Student Enrollment Services for further questions).
- All students who are candidates for the bachelor's degree must satisfactorily complete at least 44 credit hours at the University of San Francisco.
- All students must satisfactorily complete their last 30 credit hours at USF.
3. Connect with your Faculty Major Adviser and CASA Academic Success Coach
Recommended to visit both faculty adviser and success coach at least once per semester to stay on track
- Refer to your aaculty adviser if you have questions about your major/minor and need assistance with registration, class sequencing, graduation planning, and/or schedule building. Visit your faculty adviser to find out more about the classes in your respective major/minor.
- Refer to your success coach for academic and personal support. Visit your success coach if you have questions regarding changing majors/minors, need guidance on processing academic forms such as add/drop, study abroad, change of major minor form, etc. Visit here if you need one-on-one academic coaching that empowers you to achieve your academic goals.
