Senior Year Goals
You're in the final stretch of your USF journey! Senior year is an exciting—and sometimes overwhelming—time of transition. As you prepare to graduate and take your next steps, it's important to reflect on how far you've come and to start planning for what's ahead. Whether you're heading to graduate school, entering the workforce, or exploring other paths, we encourage you to take advantage of the following resources and opportunities during your final year:
Don’t forget to check out the Graduation Center for helpful resources, including how to apply to graduate, details about commencement and Grad Finale events, ordering duplicate diplomas, and more. Don’t forget to connect with your major adviser to review any remaining major or core requirements. Graduation application deadlines are September 1 for fall and February 1 for spring.
While your undergraduate experience is coming to an end, your lifetime relationship with USF is just beginning. Consider joining one of USF's many alumni groups and events, becoming a mentor to a USF student, or staying connected through news and updates from your fellow Dons—past and present.
If you're looking to land your first job out of college, the Priscilla A. Scotlan Career Services Center is a great place to start. You can schedule an appointment with a career counselor through Handshake and are always welcome to attend Career Services events throughout the year.
Thinking of continuing your education? Whether you’re considering a master's, doctorate, or certificate program, a great place to start is with your major adviser—they can offer valuable insight into programs that align with your interests and career goals. And don't forget: the Double Dons Scholarship covers 20 percent of tuition for your graduate program at USF!
These are just some of the things to consider in your senior year. As always, please don't hesitate to request an appointment with your academic success coach to discuss these topics and more at any time!
