Graduating from USF in May 2023? Receive your diploma years ago? Either way, we invite you to continue your USF journey in one of our graduate programs — on a Double Dons Scholarship.

The Double Dons Scholarship covers up to 20 percent of tuition for the first year of full-time graduate study (or part-time if you are pursuing a part-time graduate program in the School of Management).

No separate application is needed. You'll automatically be considered for the scholarship when you apply to a participating graduate program at USF for the summer or fall 2023 terms. If are accepted to the program, the Double Dons Scholarship will be applied to your student account once you submit your enrollment deposit.

To be eligible for a Double Dons Scholarship, you must be in good academic standing and be a graduating student in the Class of 2023 or a USF alum.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Double Dons Scholarship covers up to 20 percent of tuition for the first year of full-time graduate study. For students applying to the School of Management’s part-time graduate programs, the Double Dons Scholarship also covers up to 20 percent of tuition.

Specific awards vary depending on the program. Applicants can inquire about program-specific requirements and opportunities by contacting the representative in their college (see: What if I have other questions?).

Eligible programs include all credit-bearing post-baccalaureate certificate programs, post-baccalaureate pre-health programs, and master’s programs, and master’s programs except for Master of Science in biology, Master of Science in chemistry, Master of Laws, Master of Legal Studies in Taxation, and Master of Marriage and Family Therapy.

  • All doctoral programs in the School of Nursing Professions also participate.
  • 4+1 programs are not eligible for the Double Dons scholarship.
  • The Double Dons Scholarship is restricted to tuition, and does not cover fees or housing.
  • Other institutional awards (including cohort discounts, school/program merit awards, athletics scholarships) cannot be stacked on top of this 20 percent tuition scholarship. In the event you are eligible for both the Double Dons Scholarship and another award, you will be offered the larger of the two awards.
  • The scholarship does not cover undergraduate prerequisite courses.
  • The scholarship is valid for graduate courses beginning in the 2023–24 academic year (with programs starting in the summer or fall).
  • The scholarship does not apply to additional or optional units that students choose to take in the first year of the program, beyond the standard number of units required in the selected graduate program.

You may defer admission for up to one year and still be eligible for the scholarship pending the program’s approval and continued availability and participation of the program. Scholarship programs are subject to change.

There is no minimum number of units required beyond any stated program requirements. However, for full-time programs, the 20 percent scholarship is available only in year one of study.

Students who will be in their second or subsequent year of a USF graduate program in academic year 2023–24 are not eligible for the Double Dons scholarship. Students who have been admitted to a participating USF graduate program starting summer or fall 2023 and who meet the eligibility requirements will automatically receive a Double Dons scholarship.

Please follow up with the contact in your program's college. We are happy to help.
