Federal Student Aid

Federal student aid is money from the federal government. Federal financial aid may include grants, loans, and work-study funds to help pay for college and educational expenses. To apply, you will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA by logging on to https://studentaid.gov. Federal Student Aid Eligibility

To be eligible for federal student aid, you must meet certain eligibility requirements. Some basic requirements are:

  • Demonstrate financial need (for need-based programs)
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
  • Have a Social Security Number
  • Be enrolled or accepted for an enrollment in an eligible degree or certificate program
  • Be enrolled in at least half-time
  • Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) in college or graduate school
