Saturday, August 14

Move-In Day 10 AM - 4 PM Various Residence Halls Welcome to USF! You should have received an assigned check-in/move-in time before your arrival. Look for the Get Oriented (GO) Team in green shirts to help guide you throughout the week.
USF Bookstore 10 AM - 5 PM University Center, First Floor More than just textbooks and sweatshirts, find everything you need for your class, your dorm, or for showing off your Dons’ pride!
Campus Tours 1 - 4 PM Meet at University Center, First Floor New to USF? Let our GO Team leaders show you around USF! No RSVP is required.
Off-Campus Student Meetup 4 - 5 PM McLaren Conference Center Living off-campus can feel intimidating when it comes to making friends and getting connected to campus. This event will serve as an opportunity for students living off-campus to network with their peers.
Dinner (On Your Own) 4 - 6 PM Various On-Campus Dining Options  Enjoy this free time to take a break, grab dinner, and get to know other students and family members.
Welcome & Pinning Ceremony* 6:30 - 7:30 PM St. Ignatius Church Join your fellow peers for an official SYWW welcome! We will take a moment to celebrate your accomplishments and your journey to get to USF. In addition, you will learn the USF pledge and receive a commemorative pin designed for your class. This event will be livestreamed
Small Group Meetups & Student Ice Cream Social 7:30 - 8:30 PM Gleeson Plaza Follow our USF GO Team leaders to learn more about what is expected during the SYWW. This event will end with an It's-It Ice Cream - a legend of SF - Social.

McLaren 252 Learn about the international education programs available to you as an undergrad at USF and learn about the application process for second-year students! USF's Center for Global Education has sponsored programs in over 100 programs in over 40 different countries. All USF students who are applying to study abroad for Fall 2022 and/or Spring 2023 must pre-apply by December 10, 2021.

Fromm Hall, Xavier Room Learn how to support your student's academic excellence. The Center for Academic and Student Achievement (CASA), Student Disability Services (SDS), University Registrar, and the Learning, Writing and Speaking Centers (LWSC) will offer insight on how students can take advantage of resources at USF to develop helpful habits, lower their stress, and meet all of their academic goals. You'll also learn about the privacy of your student's records and what you need to know about FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act).

So much of who we are is hard to understand by those who don’t share our identities. This workshop will build your awareness of how we are shaped by our racial, cultural, and social influences. Expand your worldview, and learn to understand others’ perspectives through discussion and a hands-on, creative activity. RSVP Here

CDI Workshop - Social Justice Concepts 10 - 11:30 AM Virtual - Zoom How do we learn, what are we taught, and how do we unintentionally reinforce racialized systems? This interactive workshop will have participants build their own definitions of social justice and expand their understanding of equality, equity, liberation, and inclusion. Gain the ability to define and explain key social justice terminology and concepts with a racial justice lens and how they apply to other social identities. RSVP Here
Library: Inside Out 12 - 2 PM Gleeson Plaza/Welch Field We're bringing our favorite things inside Gleeson Library |Geschke Center out to Gleeson Plaza/Lawn! If the weather's rainy, come on inside Gleeson, we'll set up the festivities on the second floor common area of the library!

Immunization Clinic  12 - 3 PM University Center Rooms 402 & 403 Students can drop in anytime during the walk-in hours to receive the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine, the TB test for Tuberculosis, and the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.
Urban Putt: Miniature Golf 5 - 7 PM

At the heart of San Francisco’s Mission district, Urban Putt is the City’s first indoor miniature golf course. Join other Dons for an only-in-San Francisco experience with top-notch food and drinks, and a fantastical, high-tech 14-hole mini-golf course. Pre-registration is required. 
Karaoke DJ & Vision Board Night 7 - 9 PM University Center, First Floor

USF student organizations start the karaoke line up and host activities. Create a vision board with Latinas Unidas and learn more about USF performing groups. Whether you take the stage or just come to cheer on your friends, it'll be a night to remember.

Win an iPad mini!  Check in to get a free raffle ticket and sing or create a vision board to get additional entries. Karaoke singers can also get a free t-shirt!

At the northwestern corner of San Francisco, there is wild and windy trail with stunning views at every turn...Lands End's trails winds their way around rocky cliffs above the ocean, moving through shady stands of cypress and eucalyptus and emerging on to spectacular views of the shore, headlands, and Golden Gate. Join us for a beautiful walk by the shores of SF. Pre-registration is required. 
SLE Student Organization Meet & Greet 3 - 5:30 PM Zoom Student Leadership and Engagement (SLE) will be creating space for all of the Chartered Student Organizations to introduce their executive teams, organization mission/purpose, Fall 2021 events & initiatives, and ways to get involved this coming semester. The style will begin with presentations, followed by breakout spaces for students/staff to directly connect with these groups for more information/networking.

This is an in-person event where you will be able to participate in lab activities such as: Intro to Pipettes, Intro to Tissue Culture, Fluorescent Microscopy, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Microscopy, Human Physiology, and Ecology. Sign up for up to three sessions (1 lab per session) with hands-on lab activities! * Due to space constraints the spots are limited.

Assist our incoming students with parking, welcoming, providing directions and information, and helping them move their belongings into their residence halls.   • Meet Dean Charles Moses, Associate Dean Michelle Millar, and faculty from all SOM majors.
  • Get answers to your questions about your major from faculty and current students.
  • Gain insights on internships from USF's Career Services Center.
  • Get to know new first and second-year students.
  • SOM's Office of Undergraduate Studies team also will be there to answer your academic advising questions. We look forward to meeting you!

CAB presents Dons Night Out 7 - 10 PM War Memorial Gym at Sobrato Center Dons Night Out is the Campus Activities Board’s (CAB) first major event of the year. It is a festival experience where students can expect more than just amazing Bay Area musical artists. You can enjoy photo booths, large-scale games, a ball pit, great music, and more! So bring all of your friends and kick the year off right. This event is open to all USF students.
