Welcome to USF Orientation!

Orientation is a key step in starting your journey at the University of San Francisco. All new first-year and transfer students are required to attend Orientation, and we’re excited to welcome your families, too, through our family orientation program.

• Immerse Yourself in Campus Life: Experience the energy of our vibrant campus and get a real feel for the diverse, welcoming USF community.
• Discover Essential Resources: Explore the many resources designed to help you thrive academically, personally, and professionally. From academic support to wellness services, we’ve got you covered every step of the way.
• Make Meaningful Connections: Meet faculty from your school or college, connect with staff who are here to support you, and hear from current students—your Orientation Leaders (OLs)—who will share advice and tips to help you succeed.
• Embrace the USF Spirit: Learn what it means to be a USF student! Celebrate our traditions, values, and the unique culture that makes USF a special place to learn and grow.

Fall 2025: Orientation Dates

Move-In and Orientation dates are subject to change. Should timing need to change, we will communicate adjustments as quickly as possible.

Please Note: New transfer students who would like to participate in our first-year orientation program, must register for the First-Year Student & Family Orientation and will be able to move into their fall housing assignment on Wednesday, August 13. The deadline to register is Thursday, June 15.

• First-Year Student Orientation: Wednesday, August 13 - Monday, August 18
• First-Year Family Orientation: Wednesday, August 13 - Thursday, August 14
• Transfer Student Move-In Day: Saturday, August 16
• Transfer Student Orientation: Sunday, August 17 - Monday, August 18
• Transfer Family Orientation: Sunday, August 18
• Weeks of Welcome: Monday, August 18 - Monday, September 1
• First Day of Classes: Tuesday, August 19
