The Computer Science Department offers two scholarship categories: Admission and In-Program.
Admission Scholarships
Recipients receive these awards after enrolling into the program.
- MSCS Admission Scholarship: Awarded to incoming MSCS applicants with outstanding applications.
- The Dean's Scholarship: Funding for tuition, research, or conference travel.
- Double Dons Scholarship: A 20% tuition discount for USF alumni which cannot be combined with other USF awards.
In Program Scholarships
Current students may apply for merit or non-merit awards.
Merit
- Merit and Retention Scholarship: Awarded to a limited number of current MSCS graduate students based on academic performance.
Non-Merit
These awards support students who demonstrate financial need and provide service that advances our department values.

USF CS Community Service Award: Recognizes active volunteers and peer mentors excluding paid TA or RA roles.

Women in Tech Service Award: In recognition of those who serve Women in Tech at USF and beyond.

Cura Personalis Award: Supports underserved students whose experiences enrich the department.

Financial Need Based Award: Supports students who demonstrate financial need that limits their ability to fully participate in the program.

Research Award: Recognizes substantial research contributions while enrolled at USF.
